so tired
and i should sleep when she does. but that's not when i'm tired. my fine motor skills are in appalling shape. my hope is that she gets big and fat quickly so that nursing fills her up for longer. last nite with an urpup, and didie and gas it was a 2 hour middle of the night letsdealwithallthis....some of this is a growth spurt diagnosed by the lactation consultant which seems, of course, obvious now.

This makes it so real seeing this beautiful baby!!! Amazing and wonderful. I know I keep repeating myself but this gives me so much hope!
Just returned from a well deserved vacation. Could be my own insecurity but I felt that my daughter was the only child there without a sibling...feel so frustrated by this. I know that even if I were to get pregnant (would be a miracle) the age span would be too great for a playmate but she would not be alone in the world...
Can I ask what is the age difference between your two children?

My son is 5.5, in kindergrten. I know what you mean about the sib. thing -- whenever I would feel that w/him, b4 pregnancy I'd remind myself that only children usually mature earlier and that he has great peer relationships w/friends and schoolmates.
I have family members w/smallones who are MUCH closer in age but not great playmates. What's important for kids is that they can be self-sufficient as well as play w/others. My son learned early on we'd play with him anytime except when we needed to work (we work at home) and he's wonderfully independent as well as a good "mixer."

Another question for you did you ever consider adoption?

Around 2 wks postpartum you can have lochia, which is an increase in the bleeding you're having along with some other fluids....I have had normal post-partum bleeding.
We never thought about adoption because our family of 3 really did feel sufficient (and we are both people who do adopt animals) so there was never a feeling of "someone's missing" prior to this pregnancy. I think had we encountered an older child who needed a home that would have been a different situation. We occasionally talked about fostering but life is v. busy....
